Snow snow snow! + More
For those of you who live in our mid-TN area, you should be seeing God's gift of a white landscape outside. With the holidays in full swing, I just wanted us to remember what Christmas is all about. Our sweet God in Heaven sent an angel to Mary, then our sweet Savior was born to save us all. Can you imagine that someone whom you never met loved you enough to send His ONLY Son to die for you? I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around that kind of love. So remember while shopping for all these great deals this Christmas, what the day is all about. God bless you all!

Did you get this coupon?
Fashion Bug has been mailing me 10 off of 10 coupons for the last few months. Many of the stores send out these kind coupons, especially during the holiday season. Be on the lookout for these in your mailboxes. Many are good online and always good in the store. They usually have a shirt time frame that they are good, but these are perfect for snagging clearance items (unless noted, which this one does say not good on clearance), or small items like socks, jewerly, hair accessories, ect. Remember that with my last coupon I snagged a pair of jeggings and a headband for under 10.00! Have you scored any deals like this during the holiday season?

Did you sign up for gilt.com?
If you did and received the free$ 20.00 credit, then you can feel good about ordering from them. I read many comments from people unsure and uneasy about having to put in credit card info in order to check out even if your order total came to zero. My total did come to less than twenty dollars shipped for this adorable hardback book that will go in my gift closet. Let me know if you ordered anything and your experience with gilt.com!

Freebies today
Made a quick impromptu trip to Publix tonight out of sheer laziness of not wanting to cook for my son's school breakfast tomorrow (so thank you sister shubert for making what I needed!). As I was walking out the door, I thought I will grab what coupons I can...
So, I grabbed my $5.00 off of $40.00 from foodlion, my sundown vitamin coupons from the Kroger ad, free m&m coupon, free fun fizz coupon, juice coupon, $2.00 off keebler Catalina. Ended up spending $13.00 out of pocket (which was mostly the sister shubert stuff)and walked out of there with $43.00 in savings...pays to know where your coupons are...and the more you coupon the better you get at impromptu trips without spending a ton for those "uh-oh" trips!

copying a coupon is harmless...right? WRONG!
Check out the link I have attached about coupon fraud..think copying one coupon is harmlessor or buying something close to what the coupon states, like a smaller size, ect? Think again...coupon fraud is a punishable offense that can result in jail time and penalties!
Please make sure you are reading the fine print on your coupons and please do not rip off retailers!

A Season of Thanksgiving from the Oliver Family
During this season of Thanksgiving, we encourage each and every one of you to thank the Lord for the blessings you have been bestowed upon you and also encourage you to take precious time out of your day this month and let special people in your life know what your thankful for about them. Just imagine opening your mailbox or email this month and getting tons of cards, letters, pictures, ect letting you know how special you are to someone else. I challenge you to send out at least 10 notes via snail mail or electronically this month!
I am so overwhelmed by our many blessings this year, I do not even know where to start and I know I will leave some out...but here goes!
1.My God...He is the one true friend that we can always turn to no matter who, what, when, and why! And for answered prayers of healing for so many including Butch's best friend Barry-cancer free this year!
2.My husband-goodness knows I have put him through the wringer this year with a flood of emotions with the addition of a rather high maintanance little one! He is my rock, my best friend, my everything!
3.My boys-they have been such troopers this year. Learning, growing, being the best big brothers ever...they are a constant source of joy in our lives!
4.Reese Pieces-she is a little diva and has changed our lives and way of thinking forever, but we cannot imagine life without her. She is growing, getting better (physically) with each passing month and God has truly blessed us. We have been able to keep her allergies and gastro problems in check and she is growing better than they ever imagined and she is developmentally caught up to her age group, despite being born almost 6 weeks early! As my middle child said last night, she has the BIGGEST smile now!
5.Our family-we can't thank them enough for all the sacrificing this year-help during the family flu outbreak, emergency trip to Vanderbilt Children's hospital, food, cleaning, long nights sitting up and staring at our daughter who would quit breathing, choke, or vomit (while we went on business trips and much needed breaks for some sleep and R&R), babysitting weekly one, two, or three kids at a time, vacations, cards, encouragement, field trips, sewing layettes, painting nurseries, putting together furniture, washing clothes, gifts, hospital visits, giftcards, visits so I could shower, eat, and run errands....and the list goes on and on and on!
6.My business partner-for coming up with this idea, implementation of our site (thanks John!), deal-making queen who buys for me too (your the best!), who also watches my child, helps me clean my house, and has been a wonderful friend, encourager, and sholder for me to cry on during this long year of ups and downs!
7.Our church family-visits during the flu outbreak, food galore, encouraging cards, gifts, pictures, hugs, emails, facebook messages, blog support, coupon class support, prayers and prayers and prayers for our little one, my job situation, the death of Butch's grandmother, my dad's surgeries...and again the list is too long to name!
8.Our friends and neighbors-they would hear Reese crying and would drop everything and come and walk, rock, sit and talk, and stay with me so I could shower and run errands, and eat. One neighbor came almost daily to make sure I had eaten and showered and would come get the boys during the summer at HRO's naptime so she could take a long quiet nap! Another neighbor would come at dinner time and walk her around the neighborhood so we could eat dinner in silence once in awhile. They checked mail for us and let in workers into our house during vacations and trips away for death in the family. Another picked up groceries for me and took the boys on errands to get them out of the house for a break.
9.Our blog friends-we have met so many nice people, had so many nice referrals, and learned so much from all of you! You have truly inspired us and we can't wait to meet many more of you in 2011!
10.This is for everyone and everything I left out. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...The Oliver family truly could not have survived this year without our God, family, and friends! What an amazing group you are and your love has overflowed and abounded on us this year. I can only pray that we will be able to "pay it forward" tenfold as you have for us!
Happy Thanksgiving Season to each and every one of you!

It is nice to be able to share from your stockpiles with the needy. I love handing out things to family who visit too. Do you have a nice sharing story?

a way to save money...
We often get asked how we save money other ways than just couponing. I have to make most of Reese's food due to her allergies, but it has been a huge money savings to us. I bought all the containers you see in the picture with coupons and sales. I buythe produce that is on sale for the week and make enough for the week and enough to freeze. By my estimates, making my own baby food is more than 70% savings! And I have learned so much about various fruits and veggies!

How can you involve your family in couponing?
Brandi and I are often asked about how time consuming couponing is and we hear some say that they don't have time and that they don't want it to take away from family time. Well your absolutely right. We don’t want that either so here is some ways that we have heard others and ourselves involve their families. One tip that I read from a fellow couponer was that she pays her kids to cut out her coupons. She paid them per coupon a few cents. One way I involve my kids when they are with me is to make it a game to look for the blinkie machines and now that my oldest understands money and can read, I give him an item on my list to find and to bring me the correct size per the coupon. This incorporates learning as well...he is reading, following directions, and learning the value of money. This has also made my kids a little more aware that things are expensive but that coupons are out there for so many things. It is a common question in our house when discussing going out to dinner "mom...where do you have coupons at?" We also have begun to teach patience in our instant gratification world. I often encourage ten to wait on wanted items until we have a coupon and thus they are more likely to help mom find it too! Encourage your kiddos to help out...they will feel important and learn the value of saving a dollar!

candy dissappointment, customer service sastisfaction!
I splurged on a huge bag of Herseys candy the other day and when I got home with it, I was a bit irritated to find that the four kind of candy assortment bag (95 pieces) was more than fifty percent milk dues...of course my least favorite of the four kinds. Plus all the Reeses were smushed. So I gave Hersey a call and let them know how unhappy I was. They were very apologetic and are sending me a refund check for the full price of the purchase. That was a total surprise...but a nice one!

Loving one another through couponing
"A new command I give you: Love one another, just as I have loved you." John 13:34
In times like these, we love to reach out and do just this. With all the freebies, etc. we get each week, we like to reach out through our church and community to spread God's love. We have almost 3 full baskets of goodies ready to give to a needy family next week. It is amazing what we can do through Christ. If you have a nice stockpile, it is super easy to give without worry. God's word teaches us to "open our arms to the poor and extend our hands to the needy." God bless everyone!

50% off Bird's Eye prices at Publix
The Steamfresh are on sale at 50% off which made for 90 cents a bag!! Pair this AWESOME price with the $1/3 q from 9/26 SS and you have a great AND healthy side dish for 56 cents!! Also, frozen veggies retain many more nutrients than canned. :)
Pin numbers on Internet printable coupons
So while at my favorite Publix this morning, I stopped and had my "how's it going" conversation with the management. But something during this discussion is still urking me. One of the managers said she had a lady that came in and used 2 coupons with the same Pin number on them, then 6 with the same Pin! (The Pin is the 16 digit number typically found under the expiration date area.) When the manager stated that they should be different on every coupon, the customer came unglued on her. She proceeded to tell the manager that when you hit "back" and print your 2nd coupon per computer that this 2nd coupon prints with the same Pin as the 1st. Now, I have done this check myself just to see, and I have NEVER had the same coupon print with the same Pin. Jen and I try to make sure that every class we teach knows this, so I know it wasn't any of our great clients. This Pin is the ONLY way retailers can tell if the coupon is PHOTOCOPIED. Please know that photocopying coupons is a crime, not only here on Earth but also in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. Jesus didn't steal so we shouldn't either. God bless and happy saving!!
Happy Mailbox day!!!

So, you just gotta ask sometimes!
I know some of you guys have read about our allergy struggles with Reese and finding ANY packaged foods for her can be a challenge...I mean how do you make stuff without corn, dairy, and soy...there isn't much. But, I found these puffs at Target that are free of all of that stuff and she loves them...but as far as puffs go, they are on the expensive side-of course, cause they are organic. So, I emailed the company a few months ago and asked if they had coupons for them. They sent me back a great email full of info about the company, coupons for a bunch of other products, a newsletter and a list of ingredients in all their foods...BUT no coupons for puffs, which they said they didn't have. Bummer...while I appreciated the other coupons, reese can't eat any of their other stuff cause none of the rest is free of all of her allergens.
But guess what I got in my email last night? A pdf coupon for $1.00 off of two puffs!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!
I don't know why they created one...maybe I wasn't the only person that asked for one...maybe this is a one time deal, but it does pay to email companies with questions, praise, and yes-even complaints (if they are vaild complaints!).
So, guess where I am going today...Target, and yes I will be keeping my eyes peeled to make sure that they take off the right amount on my coupons, so frustrating but the only place that sells these around here!

It has been a hectic and tiring few weeks. But, we are back, and I am up and at this morning looking for deals to post! Happy Monday on this cooool fall morning-we gotta get that heat fixed!!! :)

Always keep an eye out...
So I have posted about this before, but for hou newbies I wanted to tell you about the latest random places that I have found coupons. One was what appeared to be junk mail from our heat and air company actually turned out to be a $25.00 off any service coupon...just as a random thank you ( or maybe because they know we.have to fix our heat exchange, but whatever the case, I am thrilled to have it for our upcoming expensive repair!).
The next one was on the back of a sample pack of shampoo...i almost missed it and threw it away.
Third was in a paper that randomly started showing up at our house called the yes shopper, from the Tennessean.
Keep you eyes peeled for coupons in unknowing places!

Target clearance alerts
Just wanted to give a heads up about all the great clearance finds that I saw last night at the Smyrna Target...keep in mind that this could vary by store, but have found for the most part that they tend to all run the same clearance, but sometimes the pricing is different. OK, so on to the finds...many of their hairdryers, flat irons, curling irons are on clearance of 50%...prices ranged from$ 7.00-25.00. I picked up a travel flat iron and travel hairdryer for under$ 20.00 bucks for both, plus the iron came with a heat bag! Endcap clearance was a little picked thru, but I saw norelco lens shavers marked down to$ 120.00, down from$ 199.99, giradelli chocolate bars mrked at a buck, duel pack of softsoap bodywash marked down to$ 4.00, and BEST of all, school uniforms ( polo's for boys and girls, and dresses and skirts) marked down to$ 1.75-3.98!!!!! What a great price for these items and my kids don't wear school uniforms, but the wear solid polo type shirts with everything so i snagged one in every color for both boys and they had at least five colors for the boys shirts and two colors for the girls clothes. These clothes were.just basic solid pieces and paired with cute shorts, capris, or tights would make great add to fall clothes or stock up for next summer, that's what i did!

Ways to utilize your stockpile.
We often get asked "Why should I stockpile...or why do you stockpile?". While there are many answers to this question, I wanted to give you an idea of how stockpiling by two families paid off in savings in a big way. Recently my family traveled on vacation to the beach. All together there was 8 of us that went. Normally on our vacation it would not be unusual for us to spend 300-400.00 dollars on groceries for the week to feed the two families. However, this year we decided to work on our "list" weeks ahead and bring along as much as possible for free or cheap. We always rent a house or condo, so we have to fully stock the kitchen and many items around the house such as paper products. Both families brought totes of food and supplies. We brought items such as coffee, paper towels, condiments, drinks, sunscreen, peanut butter, cereal, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, ect. just to names few. When we went to the grocery for mainly cold items like milk, eggs, and cheese. The savings this year was great and for a great deal of mine, I just opened my stockpile and tossed it in a tote, threw it in the back of the truck and off we went! I estimate that between the two families we provided $400.00+ of free/super cheap food and supplies! A lot of the stuff we brought was samples or freebies that we signed up for, like our free ronco pasta! Hope that gives you an idea of how much savings you can rack up with a little thoughtful planning, and as always remember that so many o your local charities would love to have any of your stockpile items, especially with winter quickly approaching!

A word of caution...
So, I have never tried to use a restaurant.com gift certificate, but was wanting to make our family vacation as affordable as possible without sacrificing our usual way of doing things, which includes eating out a lot. So, I spent a lot of time looking at the available places on this site to eat near where we would be staying. I our purchased three high dollar certificates for little of nothing. Excitedly our entire family talked today about what all we would order from the menu, loaded up and away we went...to a closed down restaurant. What??? Seems I purchased a gift certificate for a restaurant that no longer is in operation. I have not had a chance to contact them yet, but am very interested to see what the response is. So, word to the wise, call and make sure your restaurant is actually open! I noticed they listed Sir Pizza in Smyrna as one you could buy and the are shut down too....strange to me that they do not verify this type of info before selling the coupons! Now I wonder if the other two places are open!

Click HERE to see what q's are coming in your paper this week!
Remember that us in the smaller areas will get different q's. The bigger states get the higher dollar amount q's due to having a higher cost of living. ;) However, if you see one you want and didn't get, use a clipping service like I used last week. OR~ you can trade also! If you'd like more info on learning how/where to trade, email me (Brandi) at couponingforchrist@gmail.com

You don't have to be a Sam's member. Just leave the membership # blank. ;) Thanks Collin!
