Heartprints The Rest of God: Restoring Your Soul

The Rest of God: Restoring Your Soul

“Come to me.  Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.  I’ll show you how to take a real rest.”

Matthew 11:28, MSG

In the 21st century, especially in the “developed” world, we have access to multiple means of instant communication—telephone (wired, cell, satellite), digital television, hand-held computers with 3G/4G connections, GPS mapping and location devices, and Skype, which can instantly transmit voice and video around the world.  All this can be used for the glory of God in proclaiming the hope of Christ.  They may be employed for the benefit of life or for the destruction of life.  Are we communicating, however, with our Heavenly Father?  We don’t need to get a “signal”... He’s already there.  And are we so busy-being-busy that we don’t take time to meet with Him to have our souls restored?  He’s waiting there, too, because Jesus promised needed rest for our souls.  (Matthew 11:28–30)
